Norwich City’s former Livingston and Maidstone goalkeeper Dan Barden on trial with Forest Green Rovers
Norwich City goalkeeper Dan Barden has been confirmed as being on a short-term period with Forest Green Rovers.
Following Saturday’s pre-season friendly Melksham Town in which Rovers ran out as 2-0 winners, Steve Cotterill confirmed to Gloucestershire Live that the goalkeeper would be spending a period of time with the club.
“We have taken Dan Barden on a short-term period with us from Norwich, he is going to come away with us so we can get to have a look at Dan as well,” Cotterill said.
Barden joined Norwich from Arsenal as an academy player in 2019, he eventually graduated from the Canaries’ academy and then has had loan spells with Bury Town, Livingston and Maidstone United.
Norwich boss Thorup explains Idah’s absence
It looks like there will be daily checks on Idah now that Celtic and Norwich are playing pre-season matches. As a new manager Thorup is keen to see players in action and make his own decisions on who he wants involved in his battle to gain promotion from the Championship.
Idah is clearly someone that fits in well with Celtic but unless they put in a very tempting offer they may have to wait until next month for a decision from Norwich who start their Championship fixtures away to Oxford on August 10.
Adam Idah Norwich City pre-season absence doesn’t have the answer Celtic fans were looking for
Celtic target Adam Idah wasn’t involved as Norwich City kicked off pre-season with a 3-0 win over Northampton.
But new boss Johannes Hoff Thorup has confirmed his absence has nothing to do with a potential move to Parkhead. The Hoops are locked in talks with the Canaries over a deal to sign last season’s loan hero on a permanent basis. The Double-winners have already had an initial £4million bid thrown out by Carrow Road chiefs and it’s understood negotiations are ongoing.
