Derby County to profit from Sheffield United, Leeds United deal
Derby County are set to receive some money from Sheffield United’s deal with Leeds United, which has seen former Ram Jayden Bogle move to Elland Road.
BBC Derby’s Dominic Dietrich has said that County will get some money from the sale of Jayden Bogle, but not much.
The deal that has seen the right-back join Daniel Farke’s side was reported to be worth around £5 million, as per John Percy of The Telegraph. The Blades said that they would receive a “significant, undisclosed fee” from the transfer.
Leeds’ interest in the former Championship promotion winner came to light thanks to Mike McGrath. It took a few attempts for Leeds to get the move done, but they finally have their man.
Bogle told Leeds’ official website, upon arriving at Elland Road: “It’s amazing [to sign for Leeds]. It’s a great feeling, a massive club and a massive opportunity, I can’t wait to get going.
“I knew there was interest and since I heard it, this is where I wanted to be. As I said, it’s a massive club and opportunity, a fantastic team, great staff, so I am really excited.”
Bogle joined the Blades in 2020 from Derby, alongside fellow full-back Max Lowe, in a deal that was reported at the time to be worth £7 million, so around £3.5 million per player, as per
Derby County’s Jayden Bogle sell-on clause
Paul Warne and co. will receive some money from Bogle being bought by the Whites, but the East Midlands club won’t get any life-changing cash reserves to add to their wallet; what’s more likely is that they will get a slight boost to their transfer kitty.
Dietrich has said that they won’t get much from the Bogle-Leeds deal as the money that Farke’s side paid for the right-back wasn’t too much more than what the Rams sold him to the Blades for back in 2020.
Derby haven’t been shy about spending some money this summer to acquire players. They paid a reported £600,000 for Dutch midfielder Kenzo Goudmijn, according to Ian Baker. They also paid just under £1 million for promotion-winning former loanee Ebou Adams, according to Percy.
