Leeds’ pre-season camp in Germany is well underway as Daniel Farke looks to tune his side into peak condition for the start of the season.
However, there are Premier League clubs threatening to poach Leeds’ best players this month and West Ham have stepped up their attempts.
Interest in Crysencio Summerville will come as no surprise to anyone associated with Leeds United. West Ham United are the latest club to be linked with an enquiry about the Dutch winger and, as with all the other interest up to now, there has been no progress towards a transfer.
Brighton & Hove Albion are known to be one of those who called Elland Road earlier in the summer, but found neither player nor Leeds to be receptive to what they were offering. Now, Fabrizio Romano and ExWHUEmployee, reliable X accounts on transfers and West Ham respectively, have each reported contact from London Stadium.
Their reports suggest the Hammers were quoted a price for Summerville that was too rich for their taste, as it stands. The 22-year-old is currently in Germany with the Whites on their pre-season training camp and there has been no movement to suggest he is departing to prepare for further bids.
Leeds remain confident in their stance on the Championship’s Player of the Season. Their current profitability and sustainability projections are not ringing any alarm bells and they will do business on their terms, especially with a starlet like Summerville.
There is understanding on all sides Summerville is highly likely to move in this transfer window, but only with a deal that suits all parties. The winger’s camp are understood to be keen to secure a good deal for the Whites after they gave him a chance at 18 years old to come to England, and then progress to where he is now.
