Talk of Duran leaving Villa Park has heated up this week with the Hammers’ Tim Steidten pushing for the transfer. Duran reportedly wants the move to the London Stadium, where he could be guaranteed first team football.
The 20-year-old is currently being afforded a rest following his involvement with Colombia at the 2024 Copa America. He only played in one game but his team reached the final, and so like Ollie Watkins he will be allowed a longer break than some of his teammates.
Both Duran and his agent have addressed the transfer rumours by speaking to the Spanish speaking American media but have been non committal to where he will end up next. West Ham has been mentioned, but the transfer market will be explored, despite the Hammers’ desire to sign him.
Speaking to ESPN Deportes, Duran said: “I take it very calmly with the help of my agent and my father we are taking everything little by little, of course my name sounds in those big teams, it is very important for my career. “I am happy that these rumours are happening and hopefully something concrete happens”
Duran is represented by Jonathan Herrera, and he confirmed West Ham’s desire to sign one of clients. In an interview with AS in Colombia., Herrera said: “There is a great interest on the part of West Ham.
