Wolves got off to a really productive start by signing Rodrigo Gomes, Pedro Lima and Jorgen Strand Larsen, after turning Tommy Doyle’s loan move permanent. But over the last few weeks, Wolves haven’t been too active, with pre-season now in full swing.
But no doubt Wolves will have things bubbling away in the background. And on Wednesday, it was suggested that Wolves have identified Paraguayan starlet Gabriel Aguayo. Now, there has been a development
Gabriel Aguayo is a Wolves target, according to his own agent
Wolves are always on the lookout for young players with huge potential.
The club have some really talented players under the age of 23 at the moment, and recently they struck gold with the signing of Joao Gomes from Flamengo.
After that particular signing, it was reported that Wolves were going to place more emphasis on signing players of a similar profile.
Earlier this week it was suggested that Wolves have sounded out Gabriel Aguayo as a potential signing. The Paraguayan starlet plays his football for Cerro Porteno, for whom he made his first-team debut last season.
Apparently, there are a couple of MLS keen on the youngster, meaning Wolves may need to get a move on if they want him.
Interestingly yesterday, the player’s agent Jani Delmas made an appearance on the radio show Cardinal Deportivo, and one of the hosts Bruno Pont has reported that the agent said Wolves are indeed interested in his client.
He also said that there have already been ‘contacts’ with the club.
ABC Cardinal journalist Angel Elian quotes the agent as saying: “There is a following from Wolves, also from Argentina and Brazil. If it does not appear in this market, at the end of the year they will appear with proposals that satisfy Cerro Porteno more.”
So Wolves look to be interested in bringing in their second Paraguayan starlet in as many summers and it’ll be interesting to see if the club can get it done.
Wanderers landed Enso Gonzalez last year from Libertad, and potentially, his presence at Molineux could prove key here.
It is bound to be a lure for Aguayo that there is already a player from his homeland at Wolves. Undoubtedly, Gonzalez already being at Molineux would help him to settle.
