McLachlan is in her second spell with Portsmouth after joining the Hampshire club from FA Women’s National League Division One South East champions AFC Wimbledon midway through last season. The player made a positive contribution as Portsmouth went on to seal the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division title along with promotion to the Barclays Women’s Championship. McLachlan netted two goals in 13 appearances for Jay Sadler’s side as the club confirmed their status as third tier champions.

McLachlan is the 14th member of Portsmouth’s 2023/2024 squad to have agreed professional terms with the club this summer. She joins teammates Hannah Haughton, Riva Casley, Georgie Freeland, Jazz Younger, Sophie Quirk, Emily Pitman, Annie Rolf, Ella Humphrey, Izzy Collins, Scarlett Williams, Nicole Barrett, Emma Jones and Ava Rowbotham in going full-time with Pompey ahead of the 2024/2025 Barclays Women’s Championship campaign.
January marked the midfielder’s switch from home-town Carlisle, yet this month has seen him finally joined on the south coast by partner Becky and Cockapoo dog Kairo, into a new home in Copnor.
