Fulham’s First Summer Signing: Ryan Sessegnon’s ReturnRyan Sessegnon’s Triumphant Return to Fulham
Fulham fans rejoice as Ryan Sessegnon makes a homecoming, re-signing with the club on a free transfer after his contract with Tottenham Hotspur expired.
Ryan Sessegnon, a product of Fulham’s academy, has penned a two-year deal with the Cottagers, bringing him back to Craven Cottage until 2026, with an option for an additional year. The 24-year-old’s return marks a significant moment for both the player and the club. Sessegnon originally left Fulham in a £25m transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in August 2019.
Northampton Town have bolstered their squad by securing a season-long loan for midfielder Matt Dibley-Dias from Premier League club Fulham.
The 20-year-old, who captained Fulham’s under-21 team to a Premier League Cup victory last season, has joined the Cobblers.
Dibley-Dias, who was awarded Fulham Academy Player of the Year for the 2022/23 season, has shown consistent form for the under-21 side.
His performances earned him a spot on Fulham’s first-team bench on multiple occasions
Eligible to represent England, New Zealand, Portugal, and Brazil, Dibley-Dias has previously received a call-up to the New Zealand national squad. In September 2023, he extended his contract with Fulham.
Manager Jon Brady expressed his excitement about the new addition to Northampton Town’s roster.
“Matt is a player we are delighted to sign,” Brady said.
“He has already made an impact at Fulham, being in and around their first-team squad. I know he is rated very highly.”
Brady highlighted the competition for Dibley-Dias’ signature.
“He had a choice of clubs this summer, with at least half a dozen interested. We are very pleased he has chosen to come to Northampton Town. We are grateful to Fulham for trusting us with another of their young players,” he added.
The West London outfit have recorded comfortable 10th and 13th placed finishes in the Premier League since their promotion from the Championship despite losing key players Aleksander Mitrovic and Frank Anguissa in recent years.
