An Aston Villa star has spoken to his advisors to ask them to find a solution to a transfer impasse preventing his exit from Villa Park, according to ExWHUemployee. Transfer activity is continuing at Villa Park, with the club just shipping out a player they only signed earlier this summer in the shape of winger Lewis Dobbin.
Dobbin, who joined from Everton, has completed a loan move to West Brom, while there continues to be speculation around defender Diego Carlos.
Striker Jhon Duran has been linked with leaving Aston Villa for several weeks amid West Ham United holding talks to sign him. West Ham have been unwilling to meet Aston Villa’s asking price and have just signed Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund instead.
Duran though wants to move to the Hammers and has now ‘asked his advisors’ to try to ‘find a possible solution’ which will allow the move to happen. It is unclear whether West Ham are now still in a position to sign Duran given they have just landed Fullkrug.
Duran made 37 appearances for Aston Villa over the course of last season and found the back of the net on eight occasions.
West Ham got an up close look at the Colombian in March, when they visited Villa Park and played out a 1-1 draw; Duran played for 45 minutes.
For the home side, Rangers have just this week sealed the signing of midfielder Jonathan Varane from Sporting Gijon and Saturday could come as the first chance for his new supporters to see him in competitive action.
The same applies to the host of new signings to make their way to Loftus Road this summer, including Paul Nardi, Zan Celar, Hevertton, Liam Morrison and Daniel Bennie, all of which will want to introduce themselves to the west London crowd.
The Hoops may find themselves without striker Lyndon Dykes from the start, who missed his chance to travel with Scotland to Euro 2024 through injury and has only been included in around 43 minutes of action in pre-season. He appeared 41 times in the Championship last season, scoring six goals and providing one assist
