Havant and Waterlooville Football Club can confirm that young defender Mitchell Aston has joined Wessex Premier outfit Baffins Milton Rovers on a Dual Registration agreement
Aston joined the Hawks in July having starred in Portsmouth FC’s Academy throughout the course of last season. Mitchell has featured numerous times for the Hawks throughout the course of Pre-Season and now will head to Wessex Premier Division side Baffins Milton Rovers.
Head Coach Shaun North spoke on the deal saying “It’s imperative for Mitch to be able to play regular senior football as he continues his development. The most important thing for a young player like Mitch is to continue to get minutes and learn senior football. We’ll continue to work with Mitch in the week as he develops.
Mitch will still be eligible for us when we need to call upon him but for now we will be watching his progress with Baffins and we wish him the best for his time there.”
Mitchell is eligible for selection in Baffins’ second league game of the season against Blackfield & Langley tonight and we wish him luck for his time in PO3.
Despite losing both Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray since the Championship play-off final defeat to Southampton back in May, confidence should be high at Elland Road heading into the new season.
Leeds won all four of their pre-season friendlies, the most impressive of which came last weekend when they defeated La Liga side Valencia 2-1.
New signings Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell and Jayden Bogle all seem to have settled in well, while the return of both Brenden Aaronson and Max Wober add to the quality in the squad.
However, there is still work to do for Leeds in the market with Daniel Farke keen on strengthening three more positions – full-back, central midfield and winger.
