Wrexham FC fans are turning out in full force to back the Reds this season | The Leader

Sam Tillen is hoping for a positive start against Wrexham to start his side’s season on a high.

The young Imps travel to Wrexham on Tuesday, kicking off their 24/25 EFL Youth Alliance campaign. After a positive pre-season, Tillen is wanting a fast start from his players.

He said: “We get straight into it with two games in three days so it’s important that we’ve worked hard over pre-season – we’re in good physical condition.

“The positive for us is that we’ve managed to get everyone fit ready for the start of the season.”

Tillen is hoping his side can start positively in Wales and set the tone for the upcoming campaign with a busy schedule ahead.

He continued: “I’m looking forward to it, the lads are looking forward to it. Ultimately everything we do from the start of July builds to this moment. We want to start well and start on the right foot.

“We want to set the tone in the first game, set our standards and hopefully kick on from there. I’m really positive about where we’re at as a group and we’re finalising our preparations for hopefully a positive result and performance on Tuesday.”
