Following your great escape, Danny Rohl committed his future to the club. How crucial was that considering how destined for relegation the club looked under Xisco?
We were relentless last week. From start to finish we were excellent. I’d go as far as saying one of the best performances that I’ve seen in a long, long time. High pressing, playing out from the back, high intensity. It had it all.
Only criticism is that it was only four and could have easily been six or seven given we had 30 shots on goal. People have said ‘Plymouth were sh*te’ and while I have to agree, they weren’t great, you still have to beat what’s ahead of you. You only have to go back a few years when we lost to Forest Green who were bottom of the league at the time.
Svante Ingelsson was the stand-out player for me. He was everywhere. He’s one of the new signings that has come in and operates in the centre of midfield. You have to say he’s box-to-box and as I said, covered every blade of grass, and chipped in with an assist too. Very impressed.
Goals. Simple as that. I think that’s probably doing him a disservice, but that’s the one thing that we’ve been lacking, and given what he did at the back end of last season I think that’s what we’re going to get with him.
He’s a poacher. A real ‘fox in the box’ type of player. With the likes of Jamal Lowe, Anthony Musaba, Djieidi Gassama and Josh Windass providing the creativity and crosses into the box from wide areas then Ugbo could have a field day.
If the balls in the 18 yard box then as a Wednesday fan there isn’t another player that we’d want the ball to drop to. Unfortunately, I don’t think he’ll start this weekend. He’s arrived to us late and Danny isn’t looking to rush
Initially – yes. Now – I think we’ve got over it. The fact that he’s injured was one of the reservations that we had about him so we feel like we may have dodged a bullet somewhat
