West Ham United’s transfer business is far from being done this summer it seems. Julen Lopetegui admitted as much just a few days ago, when he suggested that he wants two top-class players in every single position at West Ham.
The Hammers head coach already has an incredibly exciting group of players at his disposal at the London Stadium. And despite the need to sell some of the deadwood, more new arrivals could well be en route to East London.
It has been a fabulous transfer window so far for the Hammers, but the addition of another top-class centre-forward would take us to another level entirely.
So could we really be in for another elite striker? There have been many reports doing the rounds about someone in particular joining West Ham this summer. But is there any truth to them?Tammy Abraham to West Ham update provided
It had actually been claimed only yesterday that the Hammers had made a firm move for Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
The powerhouse centre-forward seems almost certain to leave Roma this summer, with a fire-sale underway at the Stadio Olimpico. So could his next destination be the London Stadium?
It seems like our hopes of that happening are actually slim to none unfortunately.According to Hammers insider Sean Whetstone, reports suggesting that Abraham is a target for West Ham are ‘nonsense’
But it had all gone quiet on the Toney front of late with the striker looking increasingly likely to remain at Brentford after his replacement, Igor Thiago, was ruled out until the new year through injury.
There was a big twist at the weekend, though.Toney was a surprise omission from the Brentford squad as they beat Palace 2-1 on Sunday.
Bees boss Thomas Frank confirmed Toney was left out due to a possible transfer elsewhere. But the Dane sparked intrigue by refusing to mention the possible destination.
As well as West Ham, Spurs and Man United, Toney has also been linked with Saudi. The revelation sparked speculation the Hammers could be in talks to finally sign a player linked with them for years.
