Brady impressed with Chouchane’s ‘ability and attitude’ as Brighton midfielder heads to Sixfields
The 20-year-old Tunisian has risen through the youth ranks at Brighton and came onto Northampton’s radar earlier in the summer, with Brady giving the green light to complete the transfer after watching him in action.
A central midfielder blessed with technical quality, Chouchane has been in and around Brighton’s first-team squad and he’s also made 10 appearances for Tunisia Under-20s. He is Town’s 11th summer signing.
“Samy is a ball playing, passing midfielder,” said Brady. “As supporters will know, we have an excellent relationship with Brighton, there is a lot of trust there and we thank them for allowing us to add Samy to the squad.
Brentford defender Tristan Crama, on loan at Exeter City, scored his first professional goal in the Grecians’ 2-1 defeat away at Northampton Town in Sky Bet League One on Saturday.
The defender, who played for the Bees throughout pre-season before the move down south, put Gary Caldwell’s side ahead within the first ten minutes when he headed a corner home at the back post.
Despite the visitors creating several more chances, Northampton made a resurgence in the final 25 minutes and flipped the game on its head, with Callum Morton and Cameron McGeehan scoring to win the Cobblers three points.
Crama has started both league games for Exeter this season; City have one win and one defeat so far this term. The centre-back will be hoping to be involved in their next League One fixture against Peterborough United on Saturday.
