Ali Al-Hamadi in: 2 last gasp transfers Cardiff City must consider before August 30th

The closing of the transfer window is just around the corner, but Erol Bulut will be looking to add further reinforcements to his Cardiff City squad before it closes on Friday night.

It’s been a largely successful window for Cardiff so far with the likes of Callum Chambers, Anwar El-Ghazi, Chris Willock, WIlfried Kanga, Alex Robertson and Jesper Daland joining, while Will Fish looks set to complete a move to the Cardiff City Stadium in the near future.

However, as we all know, clubs will be doing business right until the 11pm deadline on Friday night, and like most managers, Bulut will continue to want more players through the door to ensure that his squad is as strong as possible.

Certain areas of Cardiff’s squad still look like it could do with some further strengthening, so with that in mind, here are two last-gasp signings they must consider before the transfer deadline.

Brodie Spencer

Right-back is a bit of a concern for Cardiff, with Perry NG only having Mahlon Romeo as senior competition, and Romeo was left out of the Bluebirds’ squad for their pre-sesaon tour to Austria, so it looks as if he doesn’t feature prominently in Bulut’s plans.

This means there could be scope to bring an extra right-back in, and Huddersfield Town’s 20-year-old Brodie Spencer could be a good signing for the Bluebirds.

Despite being a right-back by trade, the youngster is a versatile defender and can play in central defence as well as at left-back, and that sort of versatility could make him a very attractive option for Cardiff.

The 20-year-old has Championship experience under his belt thanks to his time with Huddersfield, and has started the season excellently for Michael Duff’s side.

With nine caps for Northern Ireland under his belt, Spencer looks like he could be a potential star of the future, and Cardiff might be able to get him on a cut-price deal following Huddersfield’s relegation.

As back up for Ng, Spencer could be a smart signing, and could prove his worth in the years to come.

Ali Al-Hamadi

Ali Al-Hamadi has been the subject of plenty of loan interest this summer, according to The Athletic, but he’s yet to seal a move away from Ipswich Town.

The striker helped Ipswich win promotion to the Premier League last season, but he’s set to struggle for playing time in the top-flight, and perhaps The Tractor Boys could be tempted to loan him out in a bid to help his development.

Despite being used from the bench mostly with Ipswich, Al-Hamadi showed that he could score goals in the Championship, and Cardiff need a striker following injuries to Isaak Davies and Kion Etete.
