Leeds United sources insist that a deal for Tottenham winger Manor Solomon remains possible and ongoing, according to Graham Smyth.
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported on Monday (26 August) that the Israeli winger underwent a medical with the Whites over the weekend ahead of a potential loan move to Elland Road ahead of the deadline.
Solomon is understood to have alternative options available to him, including interest from abroad, but the Whites remain in the transfer race to secure his signature.
Reports emerged to suggest that the Whites could miss out on the attacker’s signature because of significant financial differences between the two clubs despite the fact he has already completed his medical [Shay Lugassi, 26 August].
Leeds United fans will be slightly concerned that this deal has echoes of Dan James’ original move to Elland Road where the Welsh winger had taken photos in his Whites shirt before the deal collapsed at the 11th hour.
While there appears to be confidence around the club that Solomon may still become a Whites player, for this season at least, the longer that goes on without an official announcement, the more concern there will be around fans.
Hopefully, there are just one or two minor details to hash out before the deal can be confirmed by either club. It would be a massive blow to Leeds and Farke if this deal were to collapse so close to the transfer deadline.
The Whites need new additions in attack having lost both Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville this summer.
Although Brenden Aaronson, Wilfried Gnonto and James impressed against Sheffield Wednesday, there is a severe lack of depth in Farke’s ranks currently that needs addressing sooner rather than later.
