Simon Jordan rips into Neal Maupay in Everton debate, Jim White in hysterics
Simon Jordan has taken a swipe at Everton striker Neal Maupay in an attack that sent Jim White into hysterics.
The Frenchman has been the subject of a bid from Marseille this summer as he closes in on an exit from Goodison Park [David Ornstein].
Jordan held nothing back when discussing the Frenchman with co-host White on talkSPORT [27 August, 10:43am].
It comes on the back of Maupay criticising the Everton fans who targeted the players at Euston train station after the 4-0 loss to Tottenham last weekend.
Jordan said: “I’m not going to take much notice of Neal Maupay. There’s a reason he appeared in that report last week about being one of the biggest wind-ups in football.
“His achievements for Everton have been close to bugger all.”
At that point, White laughed out loud as the pair then moved on to discuss the prospect of Everton being relegated.
Everton will not miss Neal Maupay
Should Maupay complete his permanent exit from Everton this summer, he will join the long list of failures signed by the club in recent years.
The £15m that the Blues paid Brentford for his services in 2022 [BBC Sport] has equated to a return of one goal in 32 appearances for the club and has been a categorical waste of time and money.
A loan spell back to the Bees last season did little to overturn his fortunes and his reputation of being a wind-up merchant will be all he leaves in the Premier League when he eventually departs English shores.
Everton supporters have had enough of his antics and directed abuse towards him in the footage released after the 4-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, to which the 28-year-old responded on his X account [26 August].
As he enters the final 12 months of his deal at Goodison Park, a departure is more of an inevitably than a possibility this summer and all parties will be able to agree that it is for the best.
Sean Dyche is eager to bolster his frontline in the final days of the transfer window and moving on Maupay’s salary and potentially recouping a nominal fee will be put to good use. That can then be considered a small parting gift in what has been a complete and utter waste of time for Everton.
