Aston Villa travel to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon looking to bounce back from their defeat against Arsenal at Villa Park.
The Villans were unfortunate to be on the wrong end of a 2-0 defeat last weekend as Unai Emery’s men had the game’s best chances before Arsenal dished out the ultimate punishment.
Leandro Trossard came off the bench to score with his first touch before Thomas Partey’s long-range strike took the game beyond Aston Villa.
It was another match that saw Emery’s side go toe-to-toe with a title challenger and while they just fell agonisingly short on this occasion, a trip to Leicester City represents a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.
Leicester did secure an unlikely point against Tottenham on opening day but they were brought straight back down to earth with a 2-1 loss at Fulham.
Supporters will be happy that Villa are entering a run of winnable fixtures, including the Foxes, Everton Wolves and Ipswich Town all in their next four.
However, the refereeing selection for their upcoming clash may have fans worried.
Last weekend, Michael Oliver was the referee for Aston Villa against Arsenal. He had previously wrongly sent off Douglas Luiz but in Saturday’s clash, he rarely put a foot wrong.
Villa will hope that is the case in their next match as the Premier League have confirmed that David Coote is the man in the middle for their trip to Leicester City while Alex Chilowicz has been put on VAR duty.
Coote has refereed Aston Villa the sixth most of any side across his career, taking charge of 19 matches, with the Birmingham outfit winning 10, drawing three and losing six.
The Nottinghamshire-born referee has dished out 44 yellow cards, two reds and awarded three penalties in fixtures involving the Villans.
Whilst Coote is an experienced top-flight referee, Villa fans will be able to remember one key decision that cost their side three points last season.
