Aston Villa vs Everton injury latest as 8 players out and 6 doubts for Premier League clash
Aston Villa return to Premier League action against Everton on Saturday evening as they look to make it three wins from their opening four league games. The Toffees have yet to win this season, losing all three of their matches as they sit bottom of the table due to their inferior goal difference compared to also-pointless Southampton.
Villa’s only defeat came against Arsenal at Villa Park as the hosts were punished for their poor finishing in that fixture. They have won games at West Ham and Leicester City for an overall positive start to the 2024-25 season. It will be a busy return to action for Unai Emery’s side who travel to Switzerland to face Young Boys in their Champions League opener on Tuesday before returning to action against Midlands rivals Wolves on Saturday, September 21.
Everton and Villa had a number of injury concerns prior to the international break but those have only been added to for both sides as we run through the latest injury news from both camps ahead of the clash.
The defender was forced off against Finland while playing for England at Wembley on Tuesday night. Three Lions interim boss Lee Carsley played down any major concerns over Konsa, who played for just over an hour before his withdrawal.
Didn’t feature against Leicester City before the international break. Was called up to the England Under-21s side but withdrew from duty and went back to Villa for treatment.
Leon Bailey – doubt
Did feature against the Foxes but picked up a hamstring complaint, with Emery unable to put a timescale on his return at the time. Missed international duty with Jamaica as a result.
