The NBA legend is widely considered one of the greatest players to ever grace the basketball court, and rivals Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate that is set to go on and on.

LeBron is a four time NBA Champion and has been named to the All Star team a record 20 times.

Now aged 39, he has made history playing alongside his son Bronny for the LA Lakers.

His influence on the game continues to be felt, but he isn’t even in the top ten highest earners in the league for the current season.

According to HoopsHype, LeBron is set to be paid $48.7m(£37.4m) by the Lakers this year. But that puts him at number 14 in the list of the best paid NBA stars this season.

And it is rival Steph Curry who tops the list, earning a cool $55.7m(£42.8m) from the Golden State Warriors. Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid complete the top three of basketball’s biggest paid stars.

LeBron was recently named tenth in the Ringer’s latest list of the best NBA players, which focuses on the level expected from each player in the current campaign.

And with his 40th birthday now on the horizon, it only enhances LeBron’s GOAT credentials that he continues to play and earn at such a high level at this stage of his career

Forbes estimated his net worth at over $1billion in 2022, making him the first active NBA player to become a billionaire.

Alongside his hefty salary, LeBron has lucrative sponsorship agreements with PepsiCo and Nike, and he also has ownership stakes in some sports and entertainment businesses – including the likes of Beats By Dre, Fenway Sports Group and Liverpool FC.
