DOES LECLERC’S STRATEGY SHOW HAMILTON SHOULD HAVE FINISHED HIGHER THAN FOURTH?

Charles Leclerc’s bold strategy in the recent Grand Prix has raised eyebrows among fans and pundits alike, with many wondering if Lewis Hamilton’s team made a mistake by not adopting a similar approach. Leclerc’s decision to pit early and switch to a different tire compound paid off, as he went on to finish on the podium.

_HAMILTON’S RACE_

Hamilton, on the other hand, finished fourth, despite starting from a lowly position on the grid. While he drove a strong race, many feel that he could have finished higher if his team had adopted a more aggressive strategy. Hamilton’s Mercedes team opted to keep him out on older tires for longer, hoping to capitalize on his strong pace and make up positions later in the race.

Leclerc’s Ferrari team, however, took a different approach. They pitted the Monegasque driver early, switching him to a fresh set of tires that allowed him to push hard and make up positions. The gamble paid off, as Leclerc went on to finish third, ahead of Hamilton.

_SHOULD HAMILTON HAVE PITTED EARLIER?_

In hindsight, it’s clear that Leclerc’s strategy was the correct one. By pitting early and switching to fresh tires, he was able to capitalize on his strong pace and make up positions. Hamilton’s team, on the other hand, may have been too conservative in their approach.
