West Brom v Wolves FA Cup clash suspended after crowd trouble | Football | Metro NewsWest Bromwich Albion head to Plymouth Argyle this Tuesday night to play out their rearranged fixture which was due to take place at the end of January. Because of Albion’s participation in the FA Cup against rivals Wolves, this game had to be rescheduled and the Baggies have a swift opportunity to get back on the horse following Friday’s disappointing defeat at home to Southampton.

Albion were busy towards the end of the window and brought in Andi Weimann, Callum Marshall and Mikey Johnston to beef up their forward options. They’ve also since confirmed Yann M’Vila as a free transfer until the end of the season, although they’ll make do without him for the near future as he gets up to speed with his new environment and increases fitness levels.

Carlos Corberan will also be without a number of other senior players, who have various injuries and various comeback dates pencilled in. Here is the latest on the absentees who won’t feature at Home Park.

Injury: Calf. Bartley limped off at half time in the draw at Ipswich Town in mid-February and was expected to miss at least a fortnight.

What Corberan said: “He will be out of the team from the injury for between two and three weeks,” Corberan confirmed. “It depends on how he recovers. His feeling from the pain perspective, which is one indicator of how he can recover, has been positive, but for me it’s important not only to follow his feelings – follow the medical test to tell us when is the right moment to come back with the group.”

Estimated return date: Could be back in contention for the welcoming of Coventry, all being well, on 1 March.

Injury: Ankle ligaments. The striker was on the receiving end of a challenge from Kal Naismith at Bristol City in September and then, having recovered, suffered a blow to the same ankle through Dan Ballard at Sunderland. Maja had to be helped off the pitch.

What Corberan said: “He continues to progress,” Corberan said. “We’ve been talking about Phillips because it’s a different type of injury and a different type of recovery. Maja, the injury he received in the kick against Sunderland was very aggressive which hurt the ligaments of the ankle. It’s not something that you can decrease the timing of. You can work well or not, and he is working well.
