After securing the NFC’s No. 1 seed — a position they held for much of the season — and winning a second consecutive NFC North title, the Lions were widely expected to represent their conference in Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans

The stunning loss drew heavy criticism from both local and national media, as well as others across the NFL.

When asked about the trash talk surrounding the Lions’ early exit, the fiery cornerback issued a stern warning.

“At the end of the day, man, all this is going to hit full circle,” Robertson told Person. “Man, as mad and as much anger and fire as I got in me because I couldn’t finish out the game — and that I wasn’t injured — I’m not going to bring up injuries and say injuries were an excuse.

“It wasn’t the reason that we lost and couldn’t get over that hump, but we’ll be back. We’ll be back healthy, and just know we’re keeping all the receipts. So it is okay when you fail and you see people doubting you. That’s how I came up. That was my fuel to my fire—doubt. So we’ll be back. It is all good, but we’re definitely keeping the receipts

Unfortunately for Detroit, the 26-year-old defender exited the divisional matchup with a broken arm, leaving the Lions without one of their key defenders for much of the stunning loss.

Adding to the setbacks, shortly after their playoff elimination, the Lions saw two of their coordinators depart — including defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn.

The former Lions assistant returned to the franchise that drafted him, accepting the New York Jets’ head coaching job.

During the interview, Robertson reflected on Glenn’s impact and what type of coach the Jets are getting.

“Coach Glenn was a blessing that I didn’t realize was going to be a blessing, man. He was one of the first guys I talked to after I signed and came here,” Robertson said. “He was the reason—he was the guy that was pulling for me. Of course, (general manager Brad Holmes) wanted me and (Lions head coach) Dan (Campbell), but he was the guy that really wanted me here and knew that I was very valuable.
