Notre Dame’s opponents for the 2025 season have been revealed as Marcus Freeman’s outfit aim to go one step further and be crowned national champions.

The Fighting Irish reached their first National Championship game since the 2012 campaign with last season’s miraculous run in the College Football Playoff, first qualifying for the post-season tournament with an 11-1 record before seeing off Indiana, Georgia and Penn State to reach the final.

In the end, it proved a step too far for the South Bend outfit as they fell to a heartbreaking 34-23 defeat to Ohio State

in the showpiece finale, yet there were plenty of positives to take heading into the next season.

And if Freeman and co. are to replicate their run to the National Championship game from the 2024 season, then they now know who they must beat in order to do so, with Notre Dame recently announcing its schedule for the 2025 regular season.

The Fighting Irish will open their campaign with a trip to face Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium on August 31, before a bye week follows the following weekend. However, Notre Dame will eventually return to action with consecutive home games against Texas A&M (Sep 13) and Purdue (Sep 20), marking their first South Bend games of the season.

A road game at Arkansas then follows on September 27, before three consecutive home games against Boise State, NC State and USC follow on October 4, 11, and 18, respectively. Notre Dame will then have a second bye week in Week 9.

The Fighting Irish will open November with a trip to Boston College on the 1st, before home ties with Navy (Nov. 8) and Syracuse (Nov. 22) come either side of another road game at Pittsburgh on Nov. 15. The 2025 regular season will then conclude with an annual rivalry matchup at Stanford on Nov. 29 to compete for the Legends Trophy.

In the first month of the season, Notre Dame is set to face two likely ranked opponents and three schools from either the SEC or the Big Ten. This presents a prime opportunity to accumulate significant wins and immediately dispel any doubts about strength of schedule.
