The funding, totalling £659,392, comes from Active Travel England as part of a nationwide initiative to promote healthier ways to travel and improve routes for walking and cycling.
The money will support various projects aimed at making Shropshire safer and more accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.
Details of these projects will be announced in due course.
The initiatives will focus on creating new pathways, improving existing routes, and implementing safety measures to encourage more residents to choose walking or cycling over driving.
Ian Nellins, deputy leader of Shropshire Council and cabinet member responsible for active travel, said:
“I welcome the award of this funding and we’re very grateful to Active Travel England for this generous support.
“This funding will enable us to make significant improvements to our active travel infrastructure, making Shropshire a healthier and more sustainable place to live.
