The closure of the summer transfer window is fast approaching, making me a little nervous.
For the remainder of this week, I expect the speculation to ramp up relating to Luton Town players being on clubs wanted lists.
We’re approaching the time when the clubs resolve will be tested.
Will they succumb to a bid too good to refuse or will they stick to the club mantra that there is no financial need to sell anybody?
Yesterday, speculation ramped up regarding the future of Chiedozie Ogbene.
Several news sources, including Football League World are reporting that newly promoted Ipswich Town, are keen to make Chiedozie their latest signing.
Chiedozie, who has been playing deeper this season than he usually does, it being a case of needs must, has been hit by several injuries since he arrived, at Kenilworth Road, from Rotherham United, last summer.
At his best he possesses explosive pace and is able to get behind the opposition defence, to cause havoc.
However, it remains to be seen whether, despite the clubs protestations, he is allowed to leave, if the price is right.
Please feel free to have your say in the comment facility beneath this article.
Catching up, on the speculation and gossip, it appears that supporter opinion is split on whether the striker mentioned is needed at Kenilworth Road.
The player in question is Tom Cannon, who is currently on the books of the Premier League side, Leicester City, with the speculation being covered, among others by Football League World.
Cannon, a Republic of Ireland international, is valued anywhere between £6-7 million and would represent a significant expenditure by the Hatters.
Also, what would signing Cannon do to the likes of Jacob Brown and young Joe Taylor, both of whom are itching to secure regular first team starts?
My view is that we should give this particular piece of speculation a swerve, but what are your thoughts on a potential deal?
