Premier League heavyweights Arsenal are reportedly willing to cough up €120 million to sign 25-year-old Swedish striker Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Alexander Isak is the subject of interest from Arsenal. The Gunners are keen on signing a striker in the 2025 summer transfer window, with the Newcastle United attacking mainstay emerging as a top target. They are ready to fork out €120 million to sign the Swedish international from the Tyneside club next year.

Alexander Isak and his career so far

Alexander Isak has started living up to his potential since joining Newcastle United from Real Sociedad in August 2022. The Swede drew comparisons to legendary compatriot Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his formative years due to the two players’ similar styles of play.

However, the 25-year-old could not make the cut at Borussia Dortmund and only showed flashes of his brilliance at Real Sociedad. While Isak has struggled with fitness issues throughout his spell with Newcastle United, those injuries have never had a bearing on his form and output, with the player managing 36 goals and six assists in 74 appearances thus far for the Tyneside outfit.

However, Isak’s long-term future at Newcastle United is uncertain, considering the Magpies might struggle to maintain their charge for UEFA Champions League football. Meanwhile, the Swedish striker’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several high-profile clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.

Arsenal’s interest in Alexander Isak is understandable. The Gunners are scouring the market for a striker heading into the 2025 summer transfer window, with Kai Havertz the only reliable centre-forward in Mikel Arteta’s squad. So, several candidates, including Dusan Vlahovic, have emerged on Arsenal’s radar.

However, the Premier League heavyweights have identified Isak as their top striker target for the 2025 summer transfer window. The latest report proves that, with Arsenal ready to cough up €120 million to sign the Swede from Newcastle United next year.
