MAX VERSTAPPEN OPENS UP ON WHY HE DIDN’T “RUN AWAY” TO MERCEDES AMID RED BULL SAGA
Max Verstappen, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, has revealed why he chose not to leave Red Bull Racing for Mercedes amid the team’s recent saga.
Verstappen, who has been with Red Bull since 2016, was reportedly a target for Mercedes, who were looking to lure him away from the Austrian team. However, the Dutch driver has now explained why he decided to stay loyal to Red Bull.

– “I’ve always said that I’m committed to Red Bull and I believe in the project,” Verstappen said in an interview. “I didn’t want to run away from the problems we were facing. I wanted to work through them and find a solution.”
– Verstappen’s comments suggest that he was aware of the challenges facing Red Bull, but he was willing to work through them rather than abandoning ship.

– “I also wanted to prove myself as a driver and show that I can perform under pressure,” Verstappen added. “Leaving Red Bull would have been the easy option, but I didn’t want to take that route. I wanted to stay and fight for the championship.”
