West Ham’London Stadium  begins transformation ahead of MLB London Series as New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies come to town.

Preparations for the 2024 MLB London Series have begun, with West Ham’s London Stadium already receiving a facelift.

The countdown has begun, with Thursday marking 100 days until the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies become the latest teams to bring American baseball to the English city.

There’s still a lot of work to be done at the Stratford Stadium to transform West Ham’s home field into a cutting-edge baseball diamond, replete with more seats, an observation tower with a bar and more hot dog stands than you can shake a bat at.

But, in the meantime, we’ve had a taste of some of the improvements that have occurred behind the scenes at the London Stadium, with the baseball clubhouses being rebranded.

The massive American-style locker rooms are now permanent fixtures at the stadium, having entertained stars from the Chicago Cubs and St. Louis Cardinals for the first time last year in a breathtaking celebration of the United States’ most cherished sport.

But they’ve now been renovated in Mets and Phillies colours ahead of this summer’s games, where Mets stars Francisco Lindor, Pete Alonso, and Kodai Senga, as well as Phillies aces Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Aaron Nola, will take their seats for the historic ‘Battle of the Broads’ rivalry, one of baseball’s most intense.

The clubhouses, located on top of the 100-metre warm-up track in the west stand, include 50 individual player lockers, managers’ offices, break out areas, TV screens, and armchairs.

Aside from being extraordinarily massive, both teams’ clubhouses will be entirely available to chosen members of the press, and talkSPORT will be present to offer you interviews and coverage throughout the weekend.

After West Ham’s 2023/24 season, the London Stadium is projected to be changed into a baseball pitch in about 18 days.

Approximately 400 ground professionals from around the world will labour around the clock to change stadium seating, build new dugouts, and lay over 144,000 square feet of artificial turf.
