Joe DeLeone’s 2024 NFL Mock Draft 4.0

The Minnesota Vikings set off the first domino to fall in the unavoidable turmoil of the 2024 NFL Draft. After acquiring the 23rd overall pick from the Houston Texans, they are definitely looking for a method to grab their quarterback of the future. While the Vikings’ goal is to crack the top five, other teams such as the Denver Broncos, Las Vegas Raiders, and New York Giants may try to box them out.

In this mock draft, I projected that the Vikings would trade up with the Arizona Cardinals at fourth overall, giving Arizona three first-round picks.

We’ve reached the time in the draft cycle where everyone and their mother will have a different view on what the Bears will do with the first pick. In reality, nothing has changed to make the Bears less pleased about securing the future of their offense with Caleb Williams.

Jayden Daniels’ ability to play at a high level as a rookie will entice Washington’s already talented offense. Daniels also believes that his athleticism fits well in Kliff Kingsbury’s offensive system, making him the better option over Drake Maye.

Jerod Mayo, the Patriots’ first-year coach, will be working on the roster for several years, particularly on offense. As they seek for a future quarterback, Maye’s status as a developmental project allows the Patriots to put him behind recently signed veteran Jacoby Brissett while laying the groundwork.

When the Vikings acquired the Texas first-round pick, it was as clear as day that they were moving up to get their future quarterback. The Arizona Cardinals are their easiest trade partner, as they require additional draft money to rebuild a depleted roster. While JJ McCarthy is a risk, his characteristics and mobility are consistent with Kevin O’Connell’s attacking philosophy.
