Jokic dominated the Cavaliers on Sunday at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, with 26 points, 18 rebounds, and 16 assists in a 130-101 victory.
DJ Burns led North Carolina State to a surprise victory over Duke, advancing the school to its first Final Four participation in four decades since capturing the national championship in 1983.
He scored 29 points, a season high, as the Wolfpack defeated No. 4 Duke, earning plaudits from one of basketball’s top big men. Burns scored 29 points on 13/19 shooting, propelling the Wolfpack to the Final Four.
In the postgame news conference, Jokic, the Nuggets icon, praised the Wolfpack star, saying,
“He is fantastic. I believe he’s quite good, especially as a lefty. His teammates appear to like playing with him. “You must be a good guy.”
Burns, the South Region’s most outstanding player, attributed his good performance to his enthusiasm in the game and the team’s support during their run. He had shared.
“I’ll say what I’ve been saying throughout the tournament: if I stop having fun with basketball, I’ll quit playing. There has been a complete shift in our commitment. Nobody is being late for anything. Nobody is causing a problem on the court. “Everybody has come together.”
In the March Madness contest against Duke, he led NC State in scoring by making 13 of 19 field goal attempts and three of four free throws. The big guy recorded 29 points and three assists.
