Eli King injured in Ross County play-off win
The Wales international enjoyed a positive season on the pitch in the last year, impressing for the national team at under-21s level and seeing his performances improve gradually throughout the season for his club.
Eli King’s Ross County won their play-off tie with Raith Rovers to maintain their top-flight status in Scotland.
King started the game in midfield for Don Cowie’s side and looked assured for the first half an hour as Simon Murray gave County the lead.
But the former Wales youth international went down and received some treatment from the medics not long after and, just minutes after the physios had tended to him, he knew his afternoon was over and was substituted off.
It didn’t seem to knock the hosts off their stride too much, though, because Jordan White netted just after the break to double the lead before Murray netted his second of the afternoon.
Brandon Khela then put the cherry on top with another late goal to make it 6-1 on aggregate, securing Ross County’s place in the Scottish Premiership for another season in the process.
