Kamara would need replacing, should an exit materialise
It’s a tough one with Kamara, as he’s quite visibly an important midfielder to this Leeds setup, and someone that shouldn’t be sold in typical circumstances.
Having said that, the money on the table for Leeds should allow them to reinvest well into the same position and profile, which could put the side in a better position moving forward.
A midfield overhaul is not the ideal situation for Farke, but if the situation dictates that the club have to cash in and find a route to improve from there, so be it.
Sources: Leeds will replace Kamara if sale is confirmed, Rothwell not a his replacement
Leeds announced on Thursday the loan signing of Joe Rothwell from Bournemouth, and speculation online has suggested that the 29-year-old is a replacement for Kamara, who is of course now looking more likely to leave.
However, sources have indicated to Leeds All Over that this is not the case, with Rothwell’s arrival coming irrespective of what happens to Kamara this summer with a proposed exit to France.
Kamara’s presence as a deep-lying midfielder alongside Ethan Ampadu or Ilia Gruev is a contrasting midfield profile to that of Rothwell, and if the Finn leaves, the 49ers are expected to seek an adequate replacement.
Sources: Leeds United’s Glen Kamara exit plan revealed
Daniel Farke’s pre-season plans are building up ahead of next week’s first friendly away to Harrogate Town, with three signings in the door currently.
A raft of outgoings have already been confirmed, however, but only one significant first-team exit in the shape of Archie Gray leaving, forcing changes in midfield.
Reports from France surfaced earlier in the window indicating that Glen Kamara is a key target of Stade Rennais, who are in a midfield reshuffle themselves as Enzo Le Fee headed to Roma.
