Leeds United will face transfer target next season as Callum O’Hare decision made
The Whites had been lined with free agent O’Hare after he left Coventry City at the end of last season following the end of his contract. Leeds were thought to be interested in a deal for the 26-year-old as they look to add creativity to their side for this season’s promotion push.
United could lose Crysencio Summerville this summer, with the winger expected to leave Elland Road in a £40m deal. However, they signinficantly
turned down a big money bid for Georginio Rutter earlier this month, with Daniel Farke aiming to keep some of key players despite failure to win promotion last May.
Leeds close in on selling a star who earns more than Gnonto & Summerville
It could very much be a new-look starting XI that lines up for Leeds United’s
opening Championship game of the season at the start of August, when compared to the line-up that was fielded for the gutting play-off final defeat versus Southampton.
There had been Premier League interest in O’Hare, with West Ham and Southampton reportedly keen on a move, but he is set to join Chris Wilder’s side and link up with former Coventry team-mate Gusatvo Hamer at Leeds’ Yorkshire rivals.
The Blades are tipped as one of the early promotion favourites, along with
Leeds and Burnley, with Wilder looking to take them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. Sheffield United come to Elland Road on October 19 in what should be an enthralling encounter, with the return game at Bramall Lane scheduled for February 22, 2025.O’Hare was seen as a good alternative target, offering plenty of experience at this level, but it appears Sheffield United have won the race for his signature. Our sister title Coventry Live report that the midfielder is expected to become a Blades player this month after agreeing a deal at Bramall Lane.
