West Ham United are keen on signing N’Golo Kante from Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham can secure an agreement with this Saudi Arabian club now.

Kante has played in the Premier League before Chelsea and Leicester City. He has won two Premier League titles as well and West Ham could use his experience and quality in the middle of the park. The Hammers need a quality defensive midfielder who can protect the back four and break up opposition attacks.

It remains to be seen whether they can sign the Frenchman this summer. The midfielder has extensive experience playing in the Premier League and he will be able to settle in quickly and make an instant impact.

Darragh MacAnthony, an acquaintance of West Ham Chairman David Sullivan says West Ham won’t make the same mistake twice and will sign Ivan Toney this summer if given the chance.

The Hammers had the opportunity to sign the forward from his former club Peterborough for less than £10m in the summer of 2020 but opted against it. MacAnthony revealed Sullivan told him of his regret over the move, saying it was among his worst-ever decisions as a chairman of a football club.

MacAnthony told talkSPORT: “For me, the betting man would say, knowing what Sullivan is like at West Ham, he has always loved Ivan Toney. “He (Sullivan) will try and basically get him at a drop-down bargain off Brentford. And I know that Brentford people in there will be like no chance.

“But I know Sullivan will try, and if he had any common sense, he would because that would be the best signing that West Ham have made in 12 years instead of some foreign players for £70 million who couldn’t hit a barn door.”
