Tottenham to compete with Chelsea for 19-goal Premier League striker labelled a ‘really talented kid’ by Jurgen Klopp
Tottenham Hotspur are looking to sign a marquee striker this summer as the North Londoners look to fill the Harry Kane-shaped void in the forward line, and the Lilywhites have expressed keenness to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
Spurs have already enjoyed a fantastic start to the transfer window after already bringing Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall from Djurgarden, alongside the return of Timo Werner.
Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou are now targeting an addition to the offensive line, with the English ace linked with a move to White Hart Lane. The Lilywhites have been subject to links with multiple number nine’s along the summer window, and their priorities upfront have changed over the past few weeks.
The North Londoners have been linked with a move for the former Liverpool ace in recent months, and it will be interesting to see if they can get the deal over the line.
Will Levy break the bank for Bournemouth star?
Solanke’s interest comes on the back of the fantastic season he has enjoyed at Bournemouth. He scored 19 goals in the Premiership last season and has established himself as one of the most reliable performers in the English top tier. He could prove to be a quality signing if Daniel Levy & Co. can get the signing over the line. Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for the ex-Reds star:
However, it is very unlikely that Iraola’s side would let Solanke leave on a cheap this summer. They signed Solanke for a fee of around £19 million in 2019, and Bournemouth would be looking to make a substantial profit on his signatures.
