Every word Mikel Arteta said before Bournemouth
AFC Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke has gained the attention of clubs across Europe this summer after an impressive season on the south coast.
The forward’s 19 goals in the Premier League fired him into contention for Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad, with fans and pundits alike hoping to see the goalscorer on the plane to Germany.
The call-up didn’t come but his attacking skillset has piqued the interest of a number of clubs, who may look to give Solanke the stepping stone he needs to progress in his career. The player does, however, come with a reported £65m release clause that can only be activated by certain teams.
But where will he play next and which club would suit him best?
West Ham United are still on the hunt for a striker to ensure new boss Julen Lopetegui has everything at his disposal to create magic in east London.
Winger Jarrod Bowen was their top goalscorer once again for the 2023/24 season, netting 16 goals in the Premier League, just three fewer than Solanke.
However, the Hammers have also been linked with Aston Villa star Jhon Duran, a move that is looking increasingly likely. If Solanke is hoping for a big move to propel his career forward, he may not view West Ham as the best option, with the London side finishing only four points ahead of the Cherries last season.
The Bournemouth star scored eight more goals than Richarlison and two more than Son Heung-min in the Premier League last season, making him a sound option as the north London side attempt to climb the ranks during the upcoming campaign.
