Burnley Transfer News: Who is reportedly linked? Who is close to signing? - VAVEL International

This is according to Fotomac, who believe the Turkish Super Lig side have followed up their interest with a concrete offer for the Burnley midfielder.

The Norwegian has remained with the Clarets at this stage, following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Under Vincent Kompany, the Lancashire side didn’t do anywhere near enough to keep themselves in the division, not even reaching 30 points in their previous quest to stay afloat at the top level.

Their relegation hasn’t had major consequences thus far, with the majority of their first-teamers from last term staying put.

They may have lost some of last season’s loanees, sold three goalkeepers including Aro Muric and seen Charlie Taylor join Southampton, but Scott Parker’s side look strong ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Berge generated plenty of interest in his signature back in 2021 when his former side Sheffield United were relegated from the top flight – and rumours about his future at Bramall Lane never really went away until he joined the Clarets last year.

In a high-spending window, Berge was one of many signings at Turf Moor during the 2023 summer window, and he featured heavily for the Lancashire side last term.

It has been reported by Fotomac that the Turkish side have now launched an offer for the midfielder, who has only spent a year at Turf Moor.

According to the same outlet, the player is “keen” on joining the club, but it remains to be seen whether the Norwegian’s stance will help to push him closer to the exit door or whether Alan Pace decides to try his best to keep hold of his most important players.

The Clarets’ fanbase will be expecting loyalty from Berge, who only joined last year.

If he had been at the club for a number of seasons, it would be understandable if he wanted to leave and seek another environment to thrive in.

But it feels as though the Norwegian has a duty to try and get the club back to the top level before he leaves, having only joined a couple of windows ago.
