Brentford and Bournemouth to tussle for potential free signing – Player holds positive talks to terminate contract

That’s according to Sports Digitale, and they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an update provided by journalist Sercan Dikme. He claims Brentford and Bournemouth want to sign the 30-year-old this summer.

The Englishman spent 13 years in England with Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool. He left the Reds as a free agent at the end of the 2022/23 season, and the Black Eagles took him in August 2023 on a three-year deal.

A thigh injury forced him to spend close to 100 days between last December and March on the sidelines. This restricted him to make 30 appearances in all competitions for the Istanbul club.

The journalist says the midfielder will return to the Premier League in this window, with both Brentford and Bournemouth as his contenders.

Beşiktaş manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst seems to have left Oxlade-Chamberlain out of his plans as Dikme states talks between the player and the Turkish club to terminate his contract have been positive.

If Beşiktaş were to terminate Oxlade-Chamberlain’s contract, Brentford and Bournemouth could sign him for free.

This ticks most of the boxes needed for an Ipswich signing. He’s the right age and a tall, physical player with Premier League experience. He was once held in high regard but has failed to kick on at Bournemouth in recent seasons, so it’s not a huge surprise to see him being linked with a move away.

Some will see it as a poor move, picking up unwanted players from a Premier League rival, but these are the kinds of moves which often end up being a shrewd bit of business, especially if Mark Ashton is able to negotiate a loan or a low transfer fee.

Bournemouth launch bid for Porto striker EvanilsonAFC Bournemouth have submitted an unsuccessful official bid for Porto forward Evanilson, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Cherries have a gaping hole in their attacking ranks following Dominic Solanke’s £65million move to Tottenham Hotspur. They put forward an offer to Porto for their star striker, but it has been rejected.

Evanilson enjoyed a prolific campaign last season with 25 goals for the Portuguese giants and has attracted interest from several clubs.

Nottingham Forest, like Bournemouth, have also seen an offer for the Brazilian rejected. The 24-year-old has established himself as a crucial player for Porto and earned two caps for his country.

The former Fluminense centre-forward has grown in stature in Portugal, amassing 60 goals and 21 assists in 154 appearances.

His impressive performances saw him linked with a move to the Premier League before, with Arsenal reportedly considering a bid earlier this year.
