Mason-Clark knows the expectations on the shoulders of the City squad, which has been recognised by many pundits and neutrals as the one to watch this season, but he insists he and the group are ready for the challenge as he prepares to test himself at a higher level.

“I’m loving it,” Mason-Clark said. “I’m just getting used to everything on and off the pitch. At the moment I’m enjoying it a lot. I was anxious to start, but it did give me and my family the time to get prepared for the next stage.
