Now it’s Southampton who are said to be chasing the 22-year-midfielder, and there’s big claims about the Saints moving forward with their interest.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports Southampton have made an offer to Royal Antwerp for the young midfielder. That offer from the Saints consisted of a loan for the rest of the season and a purchase clause which would be mandatory under certain conditions.
It’s not made clear but it’s likely one of those conditions was Southampton staying in the Premier League beyond the current season.
Royal Antwerp have rejected that offer, but are presented as being open to negotiations and making progress on the move. Those clauses could well be key in this negotiation going places or not.
Maybe if that doesn’t work, the player’s agents can try Ipswich Town next, with a move to the Premier League via a newly promoted side seemingly on the agenda.speculation of a return to Turkey – where he scored 17 goals last season – and gives Martin something different up front.
However, Martin will want more and, after revealing his criteria for new signings at Southampton’s fan forum on Monday, Youssoufa Moukoko could be a perfect option.
