Newcastle United are pushing and pushing to secure the transfer of Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The England international was part of England’s Euro 2024 squad in the summer and was one of his nation’s best players before losing in the final to Spain

Newcastle have had a record bid for Guehi turned down, with the powers that be at Selhurst Park remaining firm and they want ‘superstar’ money for their centre-back.

Steve Parish has revealed talks with Paul Mitchell over Newcastle’s bid for Guehi, who has two years remaining on his Palace contract and started his side’s opening day Premier League fixture on Sunday.

“He (Parish) knows Newcastle have a lot of money and thinks ‘we don’t have to sell him. We have already lost one of our prized assets in Michael Olise.
