‘Shame’ – Dominic Solanke reacts to his Tottenham debut on social media
Dominic Solanke has vowed to keep working hard to achieve big things at Tottenham Hotspur after his disappointing debut for the club on Monday.
Dominic Solanke’s Tottenham debut
There were a lot of things to like about Solanke’s performance at the King Power Stadium, with the striker looking lively and combining well with his Spurs teammates despite having had just a few training sessions with them.
The 26-year-old also pressed tirelessly throughout the game and showcased excellent movement inside the box, demonstrating just why Ange Postecoglou was keen to bring him through the door.
However, the centre-forward’s finishing let him down as he missed two decent chances to find the back of the net in his debut, with the missed chances proving costly for Spurs, who had to settle for a point.
Solanke is searching for his first Spurs goal
Solanke will be keen to get off the mark when he takes to the field in front of the home fans for the first time this Saturday, with the striker admitting on Instagram that the team will be working hard to get back to winning ways after dropping two points against the Foxes.
Here’s what Solanke posted after his Tottenham debut: ‘First game in white. Shame not to take all three points but we will keep working to achieve great things.’
Given Solanke’s price tag, his performances will be under the microscope and pressure will start ramping up on him if he goes a couple of games without scoring, just like it did for Richarlison when he arrived.
Let’s hope that the 26-year-old can quickly get up and running so that he can play with confidence and express himself on the pitch.
